With the temperatures soaring into the +30′s the next few days nothing is better to start the day than a Refreshing Smoothie. So lock on your Blender and whip up a simple smoothie in minutes.
- 1 1/2 cup fresh or frozen berries,I used a combination of fresh raspberries and frozen blueberries.
- 1 apple cored and quartered
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1/2 cup cranberry juice
- 1/2 tbsp ground flax
- a dash of cinnimon
- 3/4 cup ice
Blend all the ingredients except ice till pureed, add the ice and whirl until chopped. Pour into glasses and enjoy. When I have more than I need I like to pour it into 2 oz. dixie cups add a couple tooth picks for a handle and freeze the remaining, this makes for a wonderful little snack when hunger hits later in the day.
