As winter lingers across Canada mixing up a batch of these and grabbing a warm blanket and jug of milk will create a cozy picnic in front of the fireplace for you and your family creating.  Thus creating a relaxing evening with delicious snack that has just enough sweetness to make it feel like a treat yet be good for you too.

I got to enjoy this treat first time while travelling with friends, so thanks Elva for sharing your recipe with me and our Jalyns followers. I shared these with several of our Ankarsrum Distributors while attending a Trade Show in Chicago and it was a hit with all.

Accessories: Ankarsrum with Stainless Bowl, Roller
and Flaker Attachment or KoMo Flaker
Quantity: 1 Large Cookie Sheet
Preheat:  Warm oven to 325 degrees

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Brown Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Honey
  • 1 cup Peanut Butter
  • 1 cup Butter
  • 1  Tbsp. Vanilla

Mix well and add the following:

  • 4 cups fresh Flaked Oats
  • 2 cups Trail Mix
  • 1 1/2 cup Chocolate Chips
  • 1 cup Coconut
  • 1 cup Raisins
  • 1 cup Wheat Germ
  • 1/3 cup Sesame Seeds

Mix this together well and spread on greased cookie sheet. You can substitute dry ingredients around with cranberries or whatever you desire as long as the amounts remain consistent.  Bake in low oven for 10 -12 minutes till edges start to darken.  You can skip the Trail Mix and use all Oats if you prefer. Adding a bit more dry ingredients will give a drier more traditional type granola bar.
